Services at CAA are warm and family-friendly. Music is an important part of our expression of prayer, especially on Friday nights. We follow a traditional liturgy and are always looking for ways to bring it to life and make it accessible for as many people as possible. We begin at 6:30pm on Friday nights and 9:30am on Saturday morning. We look forward to having you with us!
On Thursday mornings at 7:15am, the rabbi and a number of congregants come together for a weekday service. This is an opportunity be together, begin our day in prayer, and offer a setting for those in mourning to say the memorial Kaddish.
Once a month, at our Family Friday Night Service, Rabbi Zehavi is joined by his wife, Cantor Ashira Zehavi, who leads us in song on the guitar and piano. The service is lively and kidfriendly.
Upcoming services are followed by a dairy potluck dinner.
Several times during the year, we also offer special Musical Friday Night Services. Cantor Ashira, who has composed beautiful new melodies for Kabbalat Shabbat, leads us on harp and piano. The service is rich and moving. Upcoming services will include January 26, March 16, and May 4 at 6:30pm, followed by a dairy potluck dinner.
On a number of upcoming Saturday mornings, we plan to offer Learners’ Services as an opportunity for all of us to deepen our relationship to the liturgy. We will follow the traditional liturgy as on other Shabbat mornings. Rather than teach on the weekly Torah portion, Rabbi Zehavi will incorporate teaching and instruction on the meaning and mechanics of the prayers.
