Learn
At CAA, we strive to provide meaningful and stimulating educational opportunities for all ages.
The Joseph C. Foster Religious School
Under the leadership of Principal Debbie Fruchtman, our Religious School welcomes students from Kindergarten to High School.
Our youngest students join us for services and class on Sunday mornings at the Synagogue. Students, 2nd grade and older, also join via ZOOM on Tuesday afternoons for individual Hebrew lessons and class time with Rabbi Eichenholtz.
We use a spiral curriculum to delve deeply into areas of Jewish content while still providing breadth of content, skill building, and a strong sense of Jewish identity.
The congregation offers religious school tuition-free to all members.
Kulam Post-B'Mitzvah Program
Our post B'Mitzvah and High School students participate in Kulam, a program dedicated to social and Jewish growth, as they continue their steps in Jewish adulthood. These students also serve as madrichim (teacher's aides) in our Sunday classrooms.
Kulam offers exciting monthly programs that give our students a range of educational, cultural, and social experiences, within our community and with the greater Worcester County Jewish community. We value their personal and creative Jewish expression and the importance of maintaining relationships with other local Jewish teens.
Past events have included social justice projects, cooking, field trips to Jewish cultural organizations, Shabbat Across America, Holocaust memorials, and book clubs.

Adult Education
We also offer weekly adult education classes. In the past, these have included series on the Mishnah, the weekly Torah portion, meditation, and Yiddish.
Suggestions for future classes include Hebrew language, Introduction to Jewish Mysticism, Literary Approach to Biblical Narrative, and an Introduction to Judaism and Jewish History course for the wider community.

Other Learning Opportunities
Once a year, CAA hosts a Scholar-in-Residence Weekend, welcoming a visiting Jewish thinker or artist to share their work and creativity with our community. As past guests, we hosted a cantor, folk singer, Bible translator, television critic, historian, novelist, and many others. These events are a wonderful chance for the community around North Central MA to come together for high-quality and enjoyable educational experiences.
Family Education
Periodically, we will offer special programs designed for families with children. Ideas for upcoming events include Creative Exploration of the Hebrew Calendar, Bringing the Spirit of Shabbat into the Home, Staples of Jewish Cooking, as well as interfaith gatherings. Stay tuned for more details!
